On behalf of the Connected Learning Summit Conference Committee, we are pleased to announce the publication of the Proceedings of the 2022 Connected Learning Summit.
It is our honor to share with you a proceedings that celebrates participatory, playful, and transformative learning. In 2021, the Connected Learning Summit became a fully online event, supporting inclusive, international, and sustainable participation, and allowing for the largest number of participants we have ever had for CLS. The fifth annual summit in 2022 was a lively virtual gathering of educators, designers, and researchers from across the world, sharing their innovations and insights on new pathways for connected and creative learning. We are grateful for our participants for their contributions to our 2022 summit; highlights included two engaging plenary panels, keynote presentations by Professor Yeran Kim from Kwangwoon University in Seoul, South Korea, and artist and educator Marisa Morán Jahn, showcases, affinity groups, interactive roundtable discussions, and hands-on workshops.
This proceedings features 15 research papers that were accepted, following blind peer review, for presentation at the 2022 summit. We would like to thank all authors who have worked hard to contribute to this valuable record of connected learning scholarship. We are grateful as well to the Connected Learning Summit Conference Committee, Jamieson Pond, Karen Bleske, and Brad King at Carnegie Mellon University’s ETC Press for their support in the production of these proceedings.
If you find yourself inspired by these proceedings, please consider joining us and registering today for the 2023 Connected Learning Summit, happening virtually October 26-28, 2023. The call for proposals for our 2023 summit is also open to submissions of research papers and showcases. We particularly encourage submissions that are responsive to issues of pressing contemporary concern – a global racial reckoning, pandemic-fueled digital transformations, persistent social inequities, and the climate crisis. Learn more about the 2023 call for proposals and submit before the closing date of June 23, 2023.
