Robbing Rapunzel

By Anna Peintner (Makessami)

Twisted from Rapunzel

“Oh, I had a dream once, too … Since I was a little girl, I wanted to see the lanterns rising into the evening sky on my birthday. *sigh* Mother forbid it. On my 20th birthday, I ran away and looked at them on my own. From close up they were even more beautiful … But when dawn came, I found myself without a dream, without a plan, and without the desire to go home. On the way back through the woods, I found this charming little tavern, and, suddenly, there were so many opportunities, it was hard to decide. In the end, I decided to be a common bandit; plunderers have to carry too much, and you still have to sell the stuff you steal as a thief … ”

The text above is just the general idea I had when I started painting this. I hope you like it. This is a criminal Rapunzel from Disney’s Tangled.
